Mill Valley Events Center

The ideal location for large or small gatherings. Nestled in the heart of beautiful downtown Mill Valley, CA, across the street from the town’s beautiful Tudor Style City Hall, the Masonic Events Center has been the site of the Mill Valley Film Festival, beautiful weddings, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, class reunions, concerts, successful business meetings, product launches, classes-seminars, book signings, club functions, birthday parties, banquets, fund-raisers, and dances. Recently remodeled, Marin County’s newest events facility offers flexibility, affordability, and charm.

Convenient Location

Only 15 miles north of San Francisco and less than 2 miles from Highway 101, the Masonic Event Center offers a variety of facilities within easy access of neighboring cities, and counties. Parking is available across the street. Map

Attractive Setting

The landscaped entry way and rustic patio add a garden atmosphere to any event. Curbside arrivals are greeted under an arched, marqueed awning leading to the entryway to this historic building that has been one of the most imposing structures in Mill Valley since its original construction in 1903.

Reception Hall

Designed for social events, this spacious ground floor hall is well suited for such activities as receptions, banquets, business meetings, seminars, movie screenings and theatrical productions, book signings, dances, bridge groups, chess tournaments, yoga classes, craft fairs and art exhibitions.

The reception hall features a dramatic Craftsman-Victorian style entry way and landing (a perfect background for photographs), painted beaded board paneled wainscoting, acoustical fabric wall covering, maple hardwood floor, arts deco pendant lighting, ceiling mounted track spot lighting, and a fully curtained stage create a beautiful setting for any event. The hall is immediately accessible from street level and has an adjoining, disabilities accessible bathroom.

Reception Hall Capacity: 112 banquet seating; 225 auditorium seating.

Reception Hall Furnishings: 112 padded chairs, 114 folding chairs, 12 - 5 feet diameter circular tables and an additional circular table if required, 10-8 foot by 30 inch tables, china and flat ware, portable bar and an accessible drinking fountain.

Reception Hall Stage: Raised full stage with proscenium and back stage curtains and a ceiling mounted projection screen. A green room adjoins the stage. An upright piano and organ are provided.

Reception Hall Audio/Visual: The Hall and stage are wired for public address, projection and computer systems.

Kitchen: A staging kitchen equipped with commercial size stove and commercial dishwasher is immediately accessible from the hall for your caterers staging use.

King Solomon’s Temple Room

The heart of the historic building is the carpeted second story Lodge room that has been the home of Mill Valley Lodge No. 356, F & AM since 1903. Designed and built by famed local builder Harvey A. Klyce, in the Craftsman-Victorian style, the room is noted for its excellent acoustics.

It is reserved for the most special events. Your guests may sit under the 30 foot high 4,000 square foot vaulted ceiling adorned with a beautifully painted mural. (Ceiling) The room is surrounded by naturally finished old-growth redwood wainscoting. The Choir Loft can accommodate a string quartet or small choir. This beautiful, warm room is the perfect space for church, chapel, or temple functions. It accommodates any spiritual use, including meditation groups, weddings and memorials.

Furnishings: Padded bench seating and independent padded seats; 5 velvet covered, high-back thrones, three oak pedestals, and portable "alter" in Egyptian Revival Style; 2 desks, one in Craftsman Style and one in Empire Style.

Audio/Visual: The hall is wired for public address.

Other: Kanabe upright grand piano; adjoining dressing room with mirrors.

Library and Lobby

This space is used as the Lodge's recreation room, library, and museum. It has the air of a traditional "gentlemen's club." Those renting the Reception Hall or King Solomon's Temple Room will have access to this space. It is also well suited for intimate, informal gatherings and/or small receptions.

Capacity: 50 assembled

Furnishings: Portable Bar; folding chairs; gilded age, oak Brunswick standard size pool table can be covered and used as an attractive sideboard for your reception.

Rustic Garden

Your guests are free to wonder in the rustic garden around a central cypress, amid a host of native flowering plants and statuary depicting ancient operative masons practicing the art of Masonry. The garden is paved in compacted Nuns Canyon gravel mixed with granite that is easy to walk on, even in heels.
